Greetings from Bogota, Colombia
Hiya! I'm on my first trip to Colombia, and first time ever in South America, working on another exciting book project. My first impression of Bogota was that it's huge, modern, clean and seemingly safe. There are police and soldiers on every street corner; quite a contrast to the usual doom and gloom stereotypes of Colombia (not unlike Iraq). My only complaint is my first night's hotel. It sucked. Check out the view from my hotel room window. Notice the sea of red at the bottom? That's a Nike rock concert and running event that began at 7 in the fracking morning on Sunday morning. No sleep for me!
