The Two Crabs and friends are having a grand ole time in Meribel. Wish you were here!  Getting here was not so fun. We took the night train from london, qrriving in Moutiers France at 6:30am. The train was a party on rails so needless to say we didnt sleep at all. When we finally got to the resort at 11am, we could not check in our chalet until 4pm! That night we slept about 11 hours. Yesterdad Mr. Crab hit the slopes and woo-hoo; I've still got it. Skiied some greens to get my confidence back up, then blues and finally a red. I only fell once and that was because some chick cut me off and smacked the back of my knee with her pole.

Meribel is neat little village with tons of bars, cafes and shops. I was zorried because I had read that this resort was mini-Britain with no French charachter, but I dont find that to be the case at all. Nearly all the shopkeepers are French; lots of great French food. But yes there are quite a few British type pubs showing British sports. The British junior ski championships are even taking place here this week.

The snow is not the best; The weather is too warm, creating icy conditions in the morning and slushy afternoons in the lower slopes, but the snow is great above 2000 meters. Mrs. Crab is strapping on her skis today. More soon...
